Firm Grip

Measure how strong your grip is

Measure the strength of the grip of your left and right hand, you can also compare strengths with another player. The hand should not rest on another part of your body. The strength of the hand grip depends on the muscles moving the wrist and fingers - 33 different muscles in total. The grip strength is measured by a handheld dynamometer. Grip strength testing can be used in orthopaedics or physiotherapy to determine the seriousness of an injury and evaluating the hand cure or in diagnosing neuromuscular disorders (e.g. a stroke or the carpal tunnel syndrome). The grip strength is influenced by gender, bodily weight and height, length, width and perimeter of the hand, perimeter of the wrist, fatigue, time of day, injury and possible pain. The average grip strength in men is 484.4 Newtons and in women 312.8 Newtons.
