Explore more than 175 interactive exhibits spread across nearly 6,200 square metres and gain a better understanding of the world around us. The unique exhibition has four thematic sections: Planet, Civilisation, Human and Microworld. The Children’s science centre is an independent section for visitors from 2 to 6 years old.
They know every nook and cranny of the exhibition, they conceive of programmes for you, they are our beating heart. Elsewhere they are called “animators" or "educators", but in VIDA! it was immediately clear. You can tell them by the blue t-shirt and they will be glad to answer (almost) any question you might have. Their team would not be complete without the “tinkerers” who inexhaustibly repair and improve our exhibits.
You can try the absolute majority of the exhibits all by yourself. But to experience the feelings of a fighter plane pilot on a 3G flight simulator or to take a bicycle ride on a tightrope six metres above the ground – you need to do it in the presence of a trained VIDAtor and you can enjoy yourself roughly once an hour (the times are announced by the local PA system).
On the third floor, on a gallery overlooking the whole playful permanent exhibition you will find room for temporary exhibits. They alternate at roughly half-year intervals and always examine a different theme. Visitors could enjoy an exhibition dedicated to musical instruments and sound, optical illusions, mechanical machines, puzzles or human communication.
All of our exhibits are interactive, you can play with them, ride on them, bang them, spin, pull, shout, press, row, jump… The result is that every day some exhibit will fail. And when it is repaired, another one will fail. They will never all work together, but we are doing our best to ensure that the number of those currently out of order is as low as possible.
