For whom

All of you. Really. Maybe toddlers won't be able to fully appreciate it but otherwise everybody will find something for themselves to enjoy. And you will even learn something on top.

How to reach us

Křížkovského 554/12, 603 00 Brno

On foot

We are situated in the former D pavilion in the Brno Exhibition Center, the entrance is from Křížkovského St (opposite the Voroněž Hotel) and you can’t miss it (look for the large metal trunk).

Public transport

The nearest stop at the Brno Exhibition Center is called Velodrom and is served by Bus No. 44 (direction Mendlovo náměstí), in the opposite direction it is more convenient to get off at the Křížkovského stop served by Bus No. 84 (direction Stará osada). The nearest tram stop is Výstaviště – the main entrance, which is on the route of Tram No. 1. The stops of trolleybuses and buses Nos. 25, 26, 37 and 52 are at the same location.

From the railway station

In front of the main railway station (Hlavní nádraží) just take Tram No. 1 (direction Ečerova) and get off at Výstaviště – the main entrance stop (walk round the exhibition centre on the left side, down Křížkovského St, until you arrive at the building – the way is clearly signposted). From the Zvonařka bus station take Bus No. 84 (direction Stará osada) to the Křížkovského stop.

By car

On exiting from the motorway or when passing through the city follow the signs marked “BVV” or “Výstaviště”. Parking is possible directly at the Science Center, and when there is no trade fair you can park conveniently anywhere at the pavilion, or you can use the nearby parking garage.

You can park the school bus directly in front of the building of the VIDA! Science Center. If there is no room there, get information about other parking options directly at the VIDA! ticket desk.

All of you. Really. Maybe toddlers won't be able to fully appreciate it but otherwise everybody will find something for themselves to enjoy. And you will even learn something on top.
A reservation is not necessary. Just come and buy a ticket at reception.
The total exhibition area is approx. 4,600 m². We recommend to reserve at least 2 hours for a visit. But you can easily spend the whole day here! The basic admission fee includes optional visits to our science show – a performance full of entertaining experiments – and the current temporary exhibition on the gallery. For a surcharge you can enjoy screenings of 3D films, a programme in the Laboworkshop or play a treasure hunt game in the exhibition.
Yes. On the gallery you will find a stand selling beverages and some snacks. In the basement you are welcomed by a colourful diner offering soups and a daily lunch menu. The diner includes a children's corner. If you are not satisfied with the refreshments on offer in VIDA! you can visit one of the restaurants in the vicinity of the Brno Trade Fair.
Yes, in addition to Czech the exhibit captions are also available in English and German.
Yes, or as the programme manager said: “Yes, but only with a full one.” :) For empty pushchairs we have reserved a place near the reception, but if you want to leave your child in the pushchair and go round the exhibition with your child we will not stop you.
Slippers or overshoes are not required in VIDA!
All children up to 10 years of age may enter the exhibition only when accompanied by a person over 18 years. If the children are older they can be in the exhibition alone. But beware! Parental responsibility is still borne by you.
Yes. We mean it; everybody can enjoy their visit to VIDA!. Parking for the disabled is possible directly in front of the building with a reserved parking space. You will find an adapted entrance to the building below the main entrance (clearly signposted), from where you can ring reception. The whole building is furnished with lifts and several barrier-free toilets. A special video will show you the way to VIDA! in a wheelchair.
All of our exhibits are interactive, you can play with them, ride on them, bang them, spin, pull, shout, press, row, jump… The result is that every day some exhibit will fail. And when it is repaired, another one will fail. They will never all work together, but we are doing our best to ensure that the number of those currently out of order is as low as possible.
You can try the absolute majority of the exhibits all by yourself. But to experience the feelings of a fighter plane pilot on a 3G flight simulator or to take a bicycle ride on a tightrope six meters above the ground – you need to do it in the presence of a trained VIDAtor and you can enjoy yourself roughly once an hour (the times are announced by the local PA system).
Unfortunately not, nor any other animals. The only exception is clearly marked guide or assistance dogs.
