An automobile gearbox has two shafts situated alongside each other, one input and the other output. Fixed on the input shaft are the driving wheels of the individual speed gears. Each driving wheel meshes with the particular driven cogwheel. The driven wheels on the output shaft are idling at various angle speeds when the input shaft is rotating.
