Create your own avalanche
Spin the transparent ball with sand and by means of levers open and close the openings through which sand falls down and forms avalanches. The avalanche is a kind of slope movement ??“ a landslide caused by gravitation. It is characterised by the upsetting of the slope??™s stability and a sudden loosening of a large quantity of material on the inclined terrain. Causes are multiple, for example, the effect of gusts of wind, rain or snowing, sometimes it can be triggered by an earthquake, and frequently by human action. Deforested or eroded mountain slopes are most sensitive to material landslides as they have nothing left on them to efficiently stop the slide.
