Gesichtsfeld
Measure your angle of view
Place your head on the marked spot and with both eyes follow the yellow point in front of you. Keep pressing the button and when you notice red cylinders on the sides, release the button. The monitor will show you the range of your field in degrees. The field of vision is part of the space that we are able to perceive with the eye. Even when we fix our sight on an object before us, by peripheral vision we continue to perceive a broad section of the space. Peripheral vision enables us to navigate in space. The range of the field of vision is individual and may even depend on the shape of the face. In man the size of the field of vision in a single eye is given as 90° for side vision and roughly 50° for central vision, that is about 140° altogether in the horizontal plane. The fields of vision of both eyes overlap so that the angle for both eyes is as much as 200°.
