Silent communication
Turn the tiles of the exhibit and try out sign language following the picture instructions which show the initial and final position of a given sign. If there are two of you, you can try and guess which sign the other is making. Sign language is a fully-fledged communication language of the deaf. It uses both manual means, such as signs, and the mimicry and dynamics of the whole body, being non-manual communication. These non-manual means make it possible to distinguish simple statements from questions or a new piece of information from one that is known. In this way mimicry and dynamics have a similar significance to intonation, melody and rhythm in a spoken language.
