Replikation, Transkription und Translation
Explore the process of cell division
The process of copying DNA is termed replication. It happens every time that a cell is dividing so that identical and complete genetic information could be transferred to the newly created cell. In a thread replication can proceed in one direction only because of the arising chemical bonds. Transcription is the process during which an RNA (ribonucleic acid) chain is produced based on the genetic information written in the DNA chain. RNA usually acts as the medium link between genetic material and proteins which are made according to it. Translation then usually takes place in direct continuation to transcription. It is the creation of protein following a template stored in the created RNA.
