Safety first!
Select a safety feature and notice its location in the car. Safety features became a necessity in the mid-20th century with the great increase in the average speed of cars, when the total number of vehicles on the road mushroomed and as a consequence road accidents occurred more frequently. The first passive safety feature was the seat belt which to this day has undergone significant modifications and improvements. The original sturdy static belt for which the correct tension was set manually and took some time has been replaced by today??s self-winding belt.
